At Schwerer Dental Care, we strive to provide an excellent source of technology that is both up-to-date and effective. Advanced technology helps our team provide better care and gives our patients a better, overall experience. We want you to have the best possible care in the most convenient way! Our technology includes CBCT, Digital Impressions, ViziLite Oral Cancer Screening and Digital Radiography.
CBCT (Cone-Beam Computed Tomography) systems are systems that capture full 3D imaging of a patient’s teeth. For some types of treatment and diagnosis, 2D imaging does not provide enough information and accuracy. 3D imaging allows your dentist to more accurately analyze and diagnose your smile. In addition, CBCT systems are used in the placement of dental implants as well as many other types of dental treatment.
Digital impressions allow you to completely avoid traditional impressions which can be messy and inconvenient. With digital impressions, the entire smile, including surrounding tissue, is captured quickly and painlessly. In addition, having impressions taken electronically speeds up treatment time as imaging can be sent out immediately for any necessary laboratory work.
ViziLiteⓇ Oral Cancer Screening
At a regular check-up, oral cancer screening can take place with the ViziLite Plus System. The oral cancer screening simply involves rinsing your mouth with a special cleansing solution and using the ViziLite to go over your mouth tissues. Abnormal changes in the lining of the mouth and throat will show a different color under the light, signaling to your dentist that further assessment may be needed.
Digital radiography is an easier, safer way of taking x-rays. This method saves our patients from extra exposure to radiation. It also allows our team to view the results digitally, save them for future reference, and send them to other offices if needed. Digital radiography also eliminates the need of chemicals or paper. Once images are taken, they can be stored to the patient’s file, printed and easily shared.
