Dr. Richard Decantis grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania for the entirety of his childhood. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience from University of Rochester. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Temple University. He then began practicing dentistry in the Active Duty Navy in the United States Dental Corp between 1985 to 1988, and continued in the reserves until 1998.
Following his time in the Navy, in 1988, he began practicing dentistry in Oviedo, FL.
His favorite thing about working in the field of dentistry is getting to interact with his patients and take care of their dental needs. In dentistry, every hour is a new challenge, being that dentistry is multi-faceted and he is able to perform multiple different types of procedures throughout the day.
Dr. Decantis is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Central Florida Dental Association, Spear Education Club, CEREC Doctors, and is a Fellow ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists).
When Dr. Decantis is not at work, he enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, going to UCF football games, and volunteering at the Oviedo High School football games. He has been married for over 30 years to his wonderful wife, Anne, and has two amazing children, Genny and Nick.
